Questions, answered.
The ones every Oregon coast business asks before they reach out.
If yours is not here, just text.
How much does a website cost?
A Winters Code site starts at $1,750 with everything included, and it is yours to keep. Bigger sites and apps are quoted: every project gets a free consult and a written quote that holds for 14 days. The full breakdown is on the pricing page.
How fast can you build it?
Sites in days, apps in weeks. Sites start at 3 business days, counted from the day I have what the build needs, and a bigger build gets its timeline in the quote. Apps run 2 to 16 weeks depending on scope. No agency runaround, no "next quarter."
Why not WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix?
Those are mass-produced platforms: slower, plugin-dependent, and rented rather than owned. I audited 169 Coos County sites: the three platforms most businesses use averaged 60, 48 and 60 out of 100 on mobile speed, and graded a D, an F and a C- on Mozilla Observatory’s security-header check. Mine is custom code, which loads faster, reads cleanly to Google, stays secure, and belongs to you.
Do I own the site, or am I renting it?
You own it. The code and the content are yours, with no platform charging monthly rent to keep your own site online and no lock-in.
Do I need an app or just a website?
Usually a website first. An app earns its place when customers open it repeatedly or it needs device features like the camera, GPS, notifications, or offline use. I will tell you straight which one fits your business instead of selling you the bigger project.
What if I do not have photos or copy yet?
I do most of the lift. A text about what you have gets us started (there is a short questionnaire if you would rather write it out), and I can shoot real photos of your business and draft the copy for you to edit. No stock photography unless you want it.
Do you maintain the site after launch?
Yes. Monthly care plans start at $75 and cover hosting, SSL, daily backups, security patches, and edits. The person who built it is the person who maintains it, and the phone number stays the same.
What areas do you serve?
The southern Oregon coast: Bandon, Coos Bay, North Bend, Coquille, Myrtle Point, Port Orford, Gold Beach and the towns between in Coos and Curry counties, plus Reedsport just north. Bandon is home base, and most work happens over text and video, with in-person meetings where they help.
How are you this fast?
A modern stack (Astro, React, Flutter), one person making every call, and AI tooling I built myself that keeps each project’s decisions on file, so nothing gets relearned between builds.
How do we start?
With a text to 541-551-0731. Tell me what you need, and if it fits we set up a free consult, in person in Bandon or by video across Coos and Curry. I send a written quote with a start date, and work begins once the SOW is signed, the deposit is in, and I have what the build needs. Calling works too, and so does a brief from the contact page if you would rather write it out.
